"Those who can not learn from history are doomed to repeat it" - George SantayanaGlobally there is a decline of youth interest in history, phenomenon present in countries of both partners. Unfortunately, in Romania and Bulgaria the overcharged and unattractive curricula emphasizes this lack of concern for history and recent history.The project goal is empower a group of 28 young Romanians and Bulgarians to promote younths’s interest in recent history, using dialogue between generations and giving value to pesonal memories of elderly people, at the level of the regions involved (Oltenia, Romania and Vratsa, Bulgaria).1. Raising awareness of 28 young Romanians and Bulgarians about the problems of institutionalized elderly2.Development , in 28 young Romanians and Bulgarians, of communication skills with the elderly3. Development , in 28 young Romanians and Bulgarians, of skills to preserve recent history kept in the memories of institutionalized elders4.Strengthening the skills of young Romanians and Bulgarians carrying out information and debates sessions, involving 400 youth and 80 seniors in Romania and BulgariaThe main activities of the project are two Youth Exchanges, in Bulgaria and Romania, programme countries Organizing teams in Bulgaria and RomaniaLaunching of the projectLiguistic, theme- related preparationA1-mobility in Romania - 9 days A2-mobility in Bulgaria - 5 days Dissemination- Strengthening of competences acquired by young people through the development of “Stories of life” publications and debates , involving other 400 young people and 80 elderly from Romania and Bulgaria2  final dissemination conferences in Romania and BulgariaWorking methods used in the project will be those of non-formal education :- Brainstorming , presentations, lectures , demonstrations , debates , surveys, dialogue , interviews, open questions , analysis, introspection , ordering and definition exercises , energizing games / ice breakers, the living libraryAll these methods help to streamline the learning process.
