PROJECT
FINISHED
The project titled The Enhancement of Professional Competences of the Pupils and Teachers of Secondary Technical School in Chrudim is, as the title itself prompts, intended for mechanical engineering students and economics teachers teaching at the above mentioned educational institution.
Activity 1. – pupils
The essential part of mechanical engineering graduates training is CNC programming as engineering firms commonly use this type of modern control systems. They are thus also used by engineering firms in Pardubice region that are interested in our school professionally educated graduates. The graduates have to master the manual programming of MTS Simulator and FESTO milling cutter and gain additional skills in order to learn how to programme and control a CNC milling machine with the usage of the programme they created on their own. They will test and expand these skills during technology training within the framework of their professional training and they will become familiar with the Sinumerik and Fanuc systems that are owned by our school.
The educational stay at United School in Martin will deepen and thus further extend pupils‘ proficiency through their familiarization with Heidenhain system. Ten participating pupils will learn the technical parameters of the system, its operational modes as well as manual control. They will become familiar with the programme structure, they will work with files and they will master reference points of milling machines, approach to the reference point of the machine and shifts of zero point. They will learn how to identify and deal with error messages and will practise 2D and 3D simulations.
Within the framework of educational excursions, they will visit firms that closely cooperate with our partner school and where the graduates of this school work (KIA Slovakia, Viena International, Volkswagen). Here they will experience the usage of these systems first hand in practice.
The aim of this project is the expansion of professional competences of the participants of the educational stay. From a more general point of view this project should add greatly to knowledge, skills and qualification that support personal development, employment options and the participation in European job market. It should also increase the quality and innovation of our educational institution methodology and thus the attractiveness of our secondary school in particular and of technical education in general.
Activity 2. – teachers
About a month before the pupils educational stay should job shadowing of three Secondary Technical School in Chrudim teachers take place. A part of our educational programme is the teaching of economics. Our institution is not primarily aimed at economics, so our teachers would benefit from learning know – how of Martin United School in this sphere. A part of United School in Martin is Secondary School of Business. This school created modern teaching curriculum and it owns innovative educational programmes. The aim of the job shadowing will be the linking of professional education with key competences within the Common European Framework - entrepreneurship and initiative.
A substantial part of the job shadowing will be the observation of the following subjects: Economics, business, management, marketing, accounting, law science, business communication, analysis in business, banking for businessmen, corporate finance, logistics and distribution, statistics, economic geography and business ethics. However, the emphasis will be placed on the subjects of business, training company and applied economics.
Further points of the programme will be participation in the subject commission of economic subjects, work with school internal teaching materials or the implementation of international education of the partner institutions through video conference WEBEX.
The participating teachers should acquire specialized competences, especially new innovative educational methods and their presentation in the sphere of economic subjects. They should also create a portfolio of educational materials focused on various economic topics as well as the assessment of outcomes of innovative teaching methods. Finally, they should improve ways of educational programmes creation especially with the emphasis on the Common European Framework competences development.
We will focus on the following key competences according to the Common European Framework for lifelong learning: To learn how to teach, entrepreneurship and initiative and digital competences. Secondarily, we will focus on mother tongue and foreign language communication as well as social and cultural competences.
The outcome should also be the increase of creativity and team cooperation, the development of orientation in a foreign country environment and ultimately the self-esteem increase, which should logically lead to the quality increase of participants´ pedagogical work.
