"Polish your culture" Płużnica-Ostroh 2016 it is an youth exchange project, in which a group of sixteen young people from Poland and Ukraine, who are between 16 and 28 yesars old, will participate, including eight participants with fewer oportunities (excluded because of economic obstacles). Each group will also have a leader. Activity will be placed in Orłowo, which is located in Płużnica community, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.The main aim of the project it is to resume intercultural dialogue between youth from Płużnica and Ostroh, that was ceased in 2008, when the last exchange of children, youth and adults had been organised. Moreover, as a reault of the project we want to integrate youth from these two countries, exchange their experience in democracy, political systems and local government; help them to acquire skills in working in a international team and comunicate in a foreign language. We want to promote Ukrainian culture in Płużnica community and improve the image of Ukrainians amog the residents and promote Polish culture among Ukrainians. Our goal is also to activate youth from families with poor financial status. These young people will be living together since 1st to 8th of August 2016. First day will be dedicated for getting to know each other and the area. During the second day intercultural and stereotypes issiues will be worked on. Another hot topic will be customs and traditions in Poland and Ukraine. Democracy, self-government and the European Union will be important topics during the exchange -to see their effects in practice, the youth will participate in meetings with local authorities, NGOs, and also will travel to Torun to see how European funds have been used. One day will be dedicated for teaching and learning folk dances and popular national dishes. A very important part of this exchange will be work on a local initiative, which aim is to promote the cultural heritage of Poland and Ukraine among residents of the Płużnica municipality. By working in a group, participants will decide what they want to do and they will carry out planned activities. The planned program will be based on non-formal education methods such as: workshops, games, energizers, meetings, presentations, cultural evenings, drama, dance, debates, simulations, case studies, interviews and work in the field.We expect that the implementation of thisproject will improve our organizational skills and will help to integrate our goup. The integration will be done on two levels: between Polish and Ukrainians and between young people with fewer opportunities and active youth. Moreover, we hope that the gained knowledge about Erasmus + programme, experience in working in an international team and improvement of foreign language skills will contribute to implementation of other international projects in the future. Getting to know different culture by both, us and residents of the Płużnica municipality, will help in discarding stereotypes about Ukrainians. We also want to give a further incentive to our partners in the fight for democracy in their country by debates and showing good examples of the use of European funds.
