Europe faces some serious issues: EU-scepticism, democracy-sceptisism and environmental scepticism. At the same time in many European countries youth are not participating in social activites and debates as they lack capacities, motivation to act or they feel they activity will not have sense. The objective of our project is to activate young people, to give them knowledge and skills which are not learnt in school and to create a network of them to maintain motivation and provide peer-support.
We organise a Central Green Summer Academy for the seventh time this year in order to promote green and democratic values in Central-Eastern Europe. The 34 young people from Poland and Hungary participating in our project will not only participate at the Green Summer Academy, but they will have a preparatory program with workshops, seminars and cultural activities which will enable them to understand the issues treated at the Summer Academy and to become an active citizen. To achieve these goals, we will use various participative methodologies, team works, films, drama play, as well as artistic activities.
In the long term, this project will contribute to the emergence of a more vibrant civil society in Central-Eastern Europe.
