Sport club "99 gaisa baloni" is the biggest Latvian sport NGO in field of hot air ballooning. It unites 50 members, 7 of them - hot air balloon pilots. Club is known as the organizer of international events for hot air balloon competitions and fiestas in Latvia, such as LMT CUP (1999 - 2006), Valmiera Cup (2005 - 2010), AB.LV Cup, "Liepna from the birds view" and other smaller events. It also has Public Beneficiary status issued by Ministry of Finance.Zemgale NGO Centre as a coordinating organization is experienced in field of EVS since 2003 and have been hosting and sending volunteers for 7 years. Organization has wide project experience, enough capacity (both financial and institutional) to run the project. Zemgale NGO Centre has been a partner for involving local volunteers into Sport Club "99 gaisa baloni" organized competitions and ballooning events.Every year club organizes Latvian National Championships and International hot air balloon events. Year 2011 is special for us since we are organizing 1st World Women Hot Air Balloon Championship which is most important event for Sport Club "99 gaisa baloni" since 1999. Hot air ballooning is an expensive hobby but it is actually available for anyone who's interested to become a crew member or an official within the competition. All the big World hot air ballooning events and events organized in Latvia are based on voluntary participation of the officials and assistants.Project location and dates: Latvia, city of Valmiera; project duration - 9 months (01.12.2010 - 01.09.2011). Volunteers are hosted between 01.04.2011 - 30.06.2011.
