The Pipeline project targeted improvements in European prison education through enabling learners and teachers, in prison environments, to make active use of secure-ICT facilities. Conscious of a need to adequately prepare prison inmates for a return to the outside world, and of an increasing need for all European citizens to be competent in the use of new technologies, both in their professional and personsal lives, partners worked together to adapt virtual private networks and to prepare a learning management system which reflected the security demands of European prison services.
