Pilgrims Teacher Training for CSG Prins Maurits Teachers of English really need to have a high level of language skills themselves to achieve good results and progress with their students. The required level of the different skills of English has been increasing during some years now, in an environment with a growing international orientation, which makes clear why investing in the skills of teachers is essential and key to success. Next to a higher skills level of English teachers themselves it is essential to broaden the knowledge on didactic skills and repertoire and to have a stronger focus on a more effective use and integration of ICT within the school curriculum. To achieve these goals, the programme offered at 'Pilgrims English Language Courses' in Canterbury will be used. The teachers involved will have to describe their goals and desired results for themselves, related to the course of two weeks that will be attended. The results as mentioned before will directly be related to their personal development of being a teacher of English and thereby influence the results of their students. Furthermore the teacher training will enhance and stimulate the existing contacts with primary education, thereby influencing the use of early English in primary teaching.
