Project Title: Improving the knowledge and skills of Suceava County’s special education school staff in similar institutions from Podkarpackie Voivodeship Applicant: Suceava County Council - Coordinator of the consortium, with experience in the issues addressed by the project, will lead a national mobility consortium of special schools from Suceava County, which are institutionally subordinated to it, in order to organize the mobility activities for the staff working in these institutions.Parteners: Zespol Szkol Nr 3 z Oddzialami Integracyjny-P1 and Specjalny Osrodek Szkolno-Wychowawczy im. Kornela Makuszynskiego w Mrowli-P2The general objective of the project is the professional development of the teaching staff and other special school education staff, working in the six special schools in Suceava County, that have different levels of education: preschool, school, high school, vocational, through mobility activities.The project will be carried out over a period of 24 months and addresses the needs identified in each organisation, aiming to improve areas as: curriculum, management, quality assurance and especially the continuous training of the staff and to emphasize the European dimension.The specific objectives of the project:- improving the level of competences and key skills of 30 teachers and other special school education staff working in the 6 special schools in Suceava County, by undertaking a direct observation period abroad in partner schools from Poland, for a period of 7 days and the acknowledgment of the competences and skills through the Europass Mobility Certificate;-improving the educational process addressed to the children registered in the 6 special schools in Suceava county, increasing the attractiveness of the special education system, so that it could offer activities, programmes and strategies that respond to the needs of children with SEN in terms of learning process and personal development and that could facilitate their integration into the labour market;-increase the motivation of the teaching staff and other special school education staff by improving the professional activities and by motivating them to pursue in their teaching career.The information and publicity activities will consider appropriate processes to ensure the promotion and visibility of the project and also of its activities and results, facilitating a responsible communication and information.Suceava County Council will be responsible for organising the information and publicity campaigns which will consist in: a press release about the launch of the project, the final conference, 2 round tables, 2 visual workshops and the development of promotional materials.The visual workshops and the round tables will concentrate on the development of the professional competences among the teaching staff, through exposure and interaction with other teachers, giving real examples from their own experience.The visual workshops will especially emphasize the practical part, by simulating new techniques and methods which they learned in the mobility, by analysing some examples/case studies in the field of special education, conducting some application exercises through which the participants in the mobility will apply what they have learned together with their colleagues from the sending organisations and together with other interested persons. The final conference will bring to the audience the actors involved in school activities, decision makers, all the interested persons, but will also bring for the members of the target group, the small individual success stories that contribute to the great success of such a project. These small individual success stories represent the important changes for the teaching staff from special schools.The possibility to generate multiplier effects of the project lies in its remarkable ability of dissemination of the partners involved in the project. By assimilating the most effective teaching and learning techniques, therapies for people with SEN, the dissemination activities may acquire an institutional dimension, thus generating sustainable multiplier effects.Another way of multiplication will be accomplished through events organized jointly by the institutions involved in the project and the beneficiaries of the mobility. By working together in this project, lasting ties between Suceava County and Podkarpackie voivodship are consolidated, which may lead to other projects of cooperation in this field.For the successful implementation of the project, there will be a continuous monitoring of the activities conducted, preceded by careful temporary and budgetary planning. A flexible management, avoiding crisis and risks and promoting mutual trust, solving disputes amicably and making decisions by consensus, will be the basis of relations between partners and subcontractors involved.
