The project will take place in the Southern Serbian city of Vranje, close to the borders with Kosovo, FYROM (Macedonia) and Bulgaria. Southern Serbia is the most underdeveloped region of our country, well known in Serbia for its level of ethnic diversity (Roma, Albanians, Syrians...). The primary aim is to promote and preserve culture, art, and focusing on youth problems in multiethnic Southern Serbia. We recognized the need to create and organize a civil base that will actively participate in activities promoting and preserving culture as well as in motivating young people to creatively express themselves, accompany them in their personal projects (trainings, EVS…). The project is also targeting refugees by providing support to vulnerable groups, organizing clothes, food, medicine collections, helping them preparing meals and organizing workshops encouraging individual expression. Within the Serbian association the volunteers will be involved as animator/assistant within Roma Women and Youth in South Serbia project. The volunteer will be actively involved in our organization's participation, meaning participating in on-going projects and planning future projects. Generator will offer a room and support for her own project idea in the fields of youth cross-border cooperation and EU awareness. The volunteer will be encouraged to develop and implement her own project ideas, linked with values and aims of the organization. Her main missions will be to implement activity encouraging expression and creativity (theatre workshop, photo, video….), development of punctual projects (music festival, cinema…) and helping local youth to concretize their own projects. Sarah will particularly use artistic technics and methods to achieve her goals. The project is an individual EVS, involving one hosting organization from neighbouring countries – Serbia and one sending organisation, from France. Sarah, The 25 years old French volunteer will be placed for a 6 month period in the Southern Serbian city of Vranje. The volunteer will have the opportunity to experience a totally different cultures and way of living, to learn and experience new things, and to use the knowledge and experience gained in her country so that she can act as a liaison between partner organisations.
