The idea of the project and its development is going on according to the priorities stated in the development plan of the gymnasium, which is related to the education process and the results implemented by the teachers, planned and monitored by the administration. Improved competences are coordinated with such values of the school as erudition, cooperation and creativity. The aim of the project is after visiting schools in Norway and Spain and getting acquainted with their experience to get vision and the methods of the professional development which encourage teachers to become more open and to share the ideas with other colleagues and students’ parents. These can be either teaching methods or management competences. The participation in the project can also be the basis for the discussion about the social situation in Europe and the place of Latvia in this geopolitical environment. In this open time the concept is focused on the formation of the present gathering information about the past experience and future challenges Taking part in the visits of exchanging experience it is possible to get the new ideas about new strategies of teaching and learning, and education processes in general for the improvement of which the vision of administration together with creative, knowledgeable and open teachers, their motivated students and their parents are very important. During these visits it is possible to get conformation that chosen strategies are the right ones. 4 teachers of Valmiera Pārgauja gymnasium will take part in the project of individual mobilities participating into two kinds of activities: 3 colleagues are going to observe a colleague in the twin school (2 teachers of foreign languages (English and Norwegian) and one social teacher). These teachers are going to the twin schools in Norway cooperation with which have been continuing for years. One colleague is going to attend structural courses in Spain which are organised by organization English Matters with a wide experience in organising professional development events for teachers.The content of the visits includes the latest strategies an methods in learning and teaching foreign languages, understanding similarities and differences of social situations, possible challenges and their solutions, clear understanding of the elements and aims of educational system in Spain and Norway, comparing them with Latvian situation, after the visits to initiate ideas in our school’s environment and outside it – introducing colleagues with the portfolios created during the visits in method groups meetings and in seminars of method group leaders in Riga National Centre for Education. While visiting schools in Norway and Spain the participants of the project will be asked to reflect things seen there and also their experience in everyday work. It is possible to get the new ideas for assessing the study process and the results in the audience of teachers, students and parents. Legislation regulates only the basic activity but searching for ways of improvement usually is creative. The participants of the project would be interested in bilingual experience and even usage of technologies, strategies developing reading and discussion skills- different formal methods with the help of which to discover different sources for decision making in the questions important for society while acquiring languages and usage of languages in other subjects.
