Pedagogical Qualification for Quality and Sustainability Globalization, expanding of the world market, changes in the structure of the labor market demand new competencies and proper knowledge of subjects such as Business English, Business Communication in English and German from the students, future economists, in Finance and Economy High School/High School of Economics and Finance “Vasil Levski”. Their needs can onlybe satisfied by qualified teachers in foreign languages. Lack of suitable qualification, didactic materials, insufficient knowledge of terminology in the field of economics and absence of experience in a foreign-language environment hinder teachers’ attempt to fulfill the education targets. The new concept of studying Business English and German which lies in the 12th grade curriculum and the increased number of lessons for the above mentioned subject also require additional qualification of the teachers in foreign languages. The purpose of this project is to answer the teachers’ needs by giving them the opportunity to attend courses in Germany, England and Austria in order to improve their knowledge and teaching skills. Five teachers in English and German will take part in this project.They will increase the level of their qualification in prestigious educational institutions in a real foreign-language environment. That implies language development with best practice language training; developing a comprehensive understanding of the business world; enhancing the vocabulary of the vocational subject area; extending the range of techniques for teaching business English/German; acquiring new skills and tips to use in the classroom training environmentand feeling more confident about English/German language skills. The new knowledge, skills and competencies acquired by teachers will be integrated in the learning content. That way teachers will be able to upgrade the quality of teaching and the school will boost its image as an educational institution. Improving teachers’ qualification will have a great impact on students’ linguistic and digital competencies and they will increase students’ interest in other European countries and their culture. Their ability to speak foreign languagesfluently will give them a greater confidence on today’s competitive labour market. Last but not least, they will become more motivated to take part in European student exchange programmes. A new good training offered by qualified teachers will also have a significant effect on the school testimonial and its image. The desire for better qualification of the school staff will improve the school climate and will strengthen the school’s contacts with social partners. In the long run, the realisation of the project will encourage the administrative school staff to support the changes in the school curriculum by integrating innovative teaching methods. Future international educational projects will be carried out by qualified, knowledgeable and skilled teachers. The administration’s ambition is to make some of the teacher training educational institutions future partners, where students will be able to practice and develop their skills. The school administration’s main goal is to provide well-qualified teachers in foreign languages, Business English and German, and Business communication in accordance with regional and national policies concerning unemployment among young people and their future realization on the labour market in Bulgaria; national youth policies and the main objectives of the Erasmus+ programme – promotion of the European linguistic diversity, upgrading the level of key competencies and skills with regard to their importance for the labour market and their contribution to a cohesive European society.
