A Training course "Peaceful puzzle of Ukraine" gathered 32 youth workers, social workers and journalists from Armenia, Estonia, France, Czech Republic, Georgia, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine, Turkey. The project was organized by coordinating organization Framtidståget (Sweden) with support of Unga Ukrainare i Sverige in cooperation with the hosting organization Union Forum (Ukraine) and took place in Lviv region, Ukraine 11-19th September 2015.
From March 2014 the war is going on in Ukraine until now. There are dead people every day. There are depression, hate, fear in the air. All people in Ukraine suffer and need psychological support, hope and motivation to contribute to building of better society together with experience of other countries who have similar past. The general aim of the project was capacity building of youth workers oriented on cultural awareness and social skills about post war recovery human resources thanks to share of post war experience among different European partners. Objectives were to aware the ongoing war situation and acknowledge real situation in Ukraine, to learn the effective usage of media tools in war and propaganda situation and improve critical analysis thinking, to develop interpersonal and conflict management skills, to share experiences from conflict situations in the region and to learn from history, to find out tools for youth work within young people establishment, to contribute to local cooperation in human level, to help Ukrainian society to build new post-war future and to contribute to peace in Europe.
Within the project the participants shared help in post war syndrome recovery, exchanged good practices of other countries partners and got inspired for active work in local communities, contributing to the building of new future. For example, the following methods of non-formal education were used: social treatment method, stress therapy, meditation, good practice sharing, critical media analysis, debates, workshops, presentations, brain-storm of ideas, etc.
Definitely, the project had a significant impact on participants’ knowledge, way of thinking and attitude in post war society. At the meantime, local people of Lviv region, Western Ukraine and Ukraine in general were also involved in the activities envisaged in the frame of the project. As a result they got to know the different perceptions, to exchange their own thoughts with locals through promoting European values - which is a clear impact on the local level. To sum up, the outcome of the project are more aware, skilful, more psychologically stable and active and motivated society, especially youngsters and young people, who contribute to their country's common future.
