"Path to Employment" is a two stage project, aiming to support youth development and employment in EU, EECA and EURO-MED Regions. First Stage of the project is a Training Course "Path to cEmployment", took place in Manchester, UK, from 18th to 24th October, 2015, while the second stage a Youth Exchange programme "Integration + " took place in Kobuleti, Georgia from 24th to 31st July 2016 while the APV took place in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 24th to 26th June, 2016).
'PEP' was organized to explore and expose challenges regarding youth employment situations in EU member states and neighbouring EU countries. According to latest researches the biggest problem of modern Europe is the high level of youth unemployment coupled with immigration problems in member states. The causes of this present situation are numerous, however, experts argued that the crucial challenge is lack of employability skills by young people which prevent their marketability and job mobility within member states and beyond as the lacked personal or professional experience to find there ways in the competitive job market. ''PEP'' through Erasmus+ programme offered lot of tools to counter this challenges as outcomes of this noble project is replicated in all partner countries through project devolvement, sustainability and multiplicity of project ideas through workshops, seminars, training programmes such as the conception and hoisting of social enterprise platforms in Georgia via Generator 9.8 at https://www.facebook.com/500733526745150/photos/630641243754377/ and Baia Abuladze wine sanctuary at https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1127735050581925&set=a.441979605824143.95988.100000363238817&type=3)
The overall aim of the two stage project "Path to Employment" is to give youngsters opportunity to learn more about Erasmus+, active citizenship, find themselves as main actors of social development, encourage them to participate in youth work and gain experience which will finally help them get employed. It was a personal development course for young people, trainers, youth workers etc. who are just in process of choosing future professions; the training sessions were tailored to develop their career; acquired basic skills on CV and motivation letters writing, making self presentation, and interview composure. They learnt importance of leadership and team work, creativity, time management and project management. They worked with peers with fewer opportunities, explored advantages of inclusion and cooperation. At the end of each stage (TC or YE) they were opportuned to plan future projects together and work on the most problematic issues they face in their local communities.
The main objectives of the TC:
• Promote Erasmus+
• Help young people develop themselves as active citizens and future youth workers
• Reduce the youth unemployment;
• Promote integration/inclusion
Training Course (First Stage) "Development for Employment" brought together 30 young people,from 8 different countries with the aim to help newly graduated young people to gain basic knowledge about very useful things, for example: CV and motivation letter writing, make self presentation and presentation in general; how to act during interview; main aspects of leadership and team work, creativity, time management and project management. they planed, participate and learn about different youth activities.
During the training Course they were informed about all the activities implemented under Erasmus + and they were actively involved in the programme. At the same time they were involved in active citizenship and volunteering processes via the ''Citizens Interview'' assignment. Meetings were held with youth workers, ex- volunteers who are very active in different fields and made important personal contacts which later helped them to get job offers.
Youth Exchange (Second stage) "Integration+" brought together 40 youngsters from 8 different countries and the main target group are young people with fewer opportunities. Very active and motivated participants on Training Course in Manchester UK, attended the project as leaders, with 2 people with fewer opportunities. Participants on the training course in Manchester shared their theoretical background with other participants on the programmes.
Participants lead training sessions in selected schools in rural areas of Kobuleti, Georgia exposing them to peer to peer education process. Young people from orphanages having even more obstacles in the way of employment were motivated to make the best of their innate skills, such as making of handmade souvenirs, sourcing for buyers, event making and management. They also taught them good project management skills and how to source for funding through Erasmus+ programmes for their local events and activities.
