PROJECT
FINISHED
We are convinced of sports virtues, of their values and of their social, educational and cultural functions. Thus, through this project Pass’Sport, we want to enable twelve youngsters to get involved in volunteering activities related to sports. Six volunteers will do their EVS in France and in six will do it abroad. This project involves partners from Romania, Spain, Greece, Italy, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Croatia, Portugal and France. The activities, of a duration from two to twelve months, will focus on the promotion of sports activities and their benefits, sports values (respect, loyalty, self-surpassing, solidarity…), and the fight against discriminations in sports, especially regarding access to sports activities for people with disabilities and promotion of women’s sports. Furthermore, this project falls within the frame of the Euro football cup 2016 in France. The volunteers who will be hosted in Lyon and Marseille, in addition to their commitment in their local hosting structures, will be able to get involved in the organisation of the tournament with the association Volontaires 2016. The youngsters will also be involved in the organisation of the European Week of Sport. The EVS, just like sports, can be a great tool for inclusion. This project aims at giving the opportunity to all youngsters, regardless of their academic background or their social and economic situation, to do an EVS; therefore, at least half of the activities will be dedicated to youngsters with fewer opportunities. This project aims at promoting intercultural dialogue, active citizenship and foster personal development and participants’ inclusion though sports and involvement of young people. Last but not least, through this project Pass’Sport, we want to promote sports and their practice, but also contribute to more tolerant, accessible and respectful sports practices (respectful of others and of rules), and foster social bonds. Sports are also a great tool to support community life; it can bring citizens and people together. This is also our wish, at our local scale and through this project, especially now as we face the raise of extreme parties in our region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur but also elsewhere in Europe.
