La Palma, is an island of the archipelago of the Canary Islands, belonging to Spain.
Our Organization is headquartered in the municipality of San Andrés y Sauces, in the northeast of the island. Our town is known by its vegetation, especially by the forest of Los Tilos, exceptional laurisilva forest of the Third Age, which is currently only in a small number of environments, and that was the birthplace of the first Biosphere World Reserve in Canary Islands.
This project is based on an activity of youth exchange of 22 young people and 4 group leaders from Spain, Greece and Czech Republic, in the municipality of San Andrés y Sauces.
The objectives of this project are:
-Learn from other European young people to participate actively in society, especially in rural communities.
-Learn how to promote the inclusion of youth in their communities.
-Learn how to use the natural resources that surround us as means of participation and social development mechanism.
Planificades activities are based on the methodology of non-formal learning, with an emphasis on activo-participativo learning - cooperative. With them, it's show forms of work of young people from each organization, to exchange expertise that promote the participaci´' active on of the young people in their communities, as well as their inclusion in society. Likewise, seeks to show the resources provided by the natural environment, in this case of the island of La Palma, as a means to encourage the participation of youth in their environment, as well as a mechanism for social development.
Among the benefits to be obtained in the medium and long term are:
-The exchange of experiences on community involvement among young people from different parts of Europe.
-Knowledge of other realities of young Europeans, promoting their inclusion in society, through the intercultural knowledge, communication in foreign language (English), the fall of stereotypes and the awareness of being part of a European citizenship.
-The acquisition of a new point of view in which natural resources are used as a means of participation in society and social developing.
