PArents and CHildren Working, ORganizing and Learning together
The project wants to develop a learning community of children and parents, by involvingthem all together in a learning path. On this project proposal children teach to their parentshow to use the ICT tools, while the adults will single out some contents based on theirknowledge, to be inserted on the multimedia on-line learning application. Parents andchildren together will realize multimedia e-learning paths, enriching their knowledge andacquiring new strategic competences. The learning path will be organized through the useof an on-line learning game that will involve the users on the community activities.The added value of the proposal will be:- the realization of the on-line e-learning contents both for children and for parents- the acquisition of new competences due to activities strictly tied to the cognitive-dialogue,to the language, to the relation, to the confrontation, also intergenerational- the development of an on-line learning game for involving parents and children in alearning processThe scaffolding of the learning processes supposes anyway a collaboration andinternational relationship between the people that are teaching (parent, tutor, teacher, pair,etc.) and the ones that are learning. The actors of the educational process work in adialogical system which allows the funny acquirement of knowledge.During a first project phase the children become teachers and the parents become pupils.On the following phase the parents teach to the children how to learn, working asfacilitators. Moreover, developing these learning processes on-line lets the players play ina neutral path that gives to them the possibility to get away from their roles of the real life,fostering them to join the game and giving a great value to the proposal.The main objectives of the project proposal will be to:- define an educational path both for parents and for children;- realize a virtual community on-line, where the activities are structured like a learninggame;- define the rules of this learning game that will be played on the virtual on-line community;- help parents and children to work, organize and learn together.The theory framework where the project will be developed is the constructivism paradigm,in accordance with the principle that argues that the knowledge, development and learningprocesses are not innate skills of the individual, but they are functions that are generatedby the social interactions, the multiple relations and a specific context.This point of view places at the basis of the development of superior mind processes theinteraction, negotiation, the verbal activity, and by doing this, it gives to the symboliclinguisticfaculty, which allows to build and construct knowledge and to give aninterpretation of the world.
