With this project we want to introduce other European countries to the language and culture of Austria. The focus will be put on gaining an insight into the differences in the educational systems of Austria and Estonia and the different teaching methods used in these countries in order to increase educational competence. For this we intend to work together with teachers and students in Estonia, concentrating on the pedagogical methodology of second language acquisition of German. The lessons will contain presentations and group work. At the beginning we want to find out about the Estonian students’ language skills in German and how much they already know about Austria. The aim of the course is to increase their knowledge in both spheres. One participant will go to Estonia, namely Mag Jürgen Tobisch, who teaches German and History and Rhetoric at BRG Enns. Additionally he qualifies as students’ adviser and educational adviser, acknowledged PISA students’ coach. Furthermore Mag Tobisch holds a certificate in children’s and youth literature. He has already worked with non-native pupils.
