FINISHED
Background:Albrecht-Dürer-Mittelschule Haßfurt has 298 pupils representing a diversity of nationalities. They attend either regular classes on a basic level, medium level or classes with a focus on practical work. Aims:We are planning to attend events on further vocational training in the fields of ”Teaching and learning foreign languages“, and „Improvement of educational methods“. The basic idea is to improve the quality of teaching and education by an increasing and sustainable expertise in methodological training. This demands improvement in subject-related areas as well as in ICT. Moreover the skills in language teaching and speaking should be fostered, in order to improve the quality of English language teaching as well as increasing the motivation for intercultural learning. Eventually we aim to optimize individual and sophisticated learning at our school for all pupils including those with a migration background. Thus an important European dimension shall be brought to our school.Number and profiles of the participants:All the participants are teaching at our school in various fields of education, so they cover a wide area of educational needs. Each of them is responsible for additional areas of tasks, apart from their common duty of teaching and educating. We are including colleagues from all forms and levels to make sure that all pupils and teachers will benefit from the outcomes of the project. Furthermore we are planning to offer workshops and courses for teachers which will widen the number of participants who can take profit in meeting the results of the projects.Description of activities:The main activities during the project will be attending the courses and workshops offered by the European Erasmus plus project. These will be events conducted in English language focussing intercultural, methodological and language-related contents on various subjects connected with school purposes and subjects.Process of realization:The school administration of Albrecht-Dürer-Mittelschule together with Mrs Barbara Schotten-Schlapka will survey the coordination of the entire project in cooperation of the participating teachers and the school’s educational staff. Regularly scheduled meetings before and after the activities will ensure an adequate preparation of the project activities and a decent documentation and evaluation of the outcomes project.Sustainability:By conducting vocational training activities on a European level we will have the opportunity of intensifying and widening the pedagogical options of teaching and educating at our school, focussing on endurance and sustainability of the training methods. Intensifying contacts with colleagues from the European training activities should lead to increasing interest in starting European projects e.g. using the e-Twinning platform or pupils’ and staff exchange. The basic idea of a united Europe shall be transported and published via newspapers, close cooperations with neighbouring schools and school authorities as well as all interested colleagues and our school family.
