PROJECT
FINISHED
This is a project conceived for a secondary High School, set in a little village among the Apennines in an isolated area between Bologna and Florence, not well served by an efficent public transport. Most of our students come from immigrant families, some of them are at risk of leaving school before completing it. The ones who have a degree hardly ever have a job close to their hometowns. Extra scholastic activities, which try to afford these problems, are roughly obstaculated by a lack of public transport in addition to normal school timetable. We believe that, by improving the European dimention of our school, we can break our geographil an psycological isolation, and that a more efficient use of our hardware tools can better the management of e- learning. This is just the first necessary step towards more efficient projects.
We therefore expect that 8 people, among administrative and teaching staff, will attend a language course in summer, and some of them will form a working group to manage this and future projects based on the internationalization of our school. The actual ITC and teaching experts will also improve their training through ITC courses. Two teachers, designed for our integration project for no mother tongue speakers, will follow a seminary about management of multicultural classrooms. Another teacher will go to Portugal with Teaching Assignment project not only to teach English but also to observe teaching and managment methods in a school affected by huge migratory processes.
The project will be led by a mixed workteam composed of our Headmasters together with our administration and teaching staff. This group will report weekly to our Principal about the project , once a month to the managerial group and twice a month to the whole institute in assembly . The work team will take care of every part of organization, both practical and relations with external partners : host organizations, stakeholders, our district, region, Europe-Direct Point.
Expected results regard first of all teaching tools and best practices, which are going to be widely shared to every potential interested school. These tools and these practices are necessary to plan future actions, otherwise we couldn't afford them.
This is our way for far in the future activities.
