The project activity was implemented in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia from 17.12.2015 till 23.12.2015:
The applying country, and in the same time organization who was coordinating the project was Adra-Netherland. The trainers came from our close partner from Poland: Europe4Youth, and Sfera Macedonia. Adra Netherland as a main organization chose Serbia because of the specific situation there, when it comes to intercultural dialogue and intercultural learning. Stuff members together with the trainers played a crucial role, stimulating participant to share their knowledge, skills and to contribute to successfully implementation of the project. During the 7 days of activity they succeed in designing a learning space where participant with pleasure share their toughs and experience toward the issues that were discussed during the project activity.
The project consisted of a training course dedicated to youth workers and aiming to develop competencies in using and improving their intercultural competences. Working with many youth people, ADRA Netherland came to conclusion that nowadays it’s important for all youth leaders facilitators and trainers to learn how to work in intercultural environment, which is full with diversity on every level. During this project course the participant got ability to know how to use the intercultural skills in youth work on international level in order to improve certain soft aspects of international youth work. Some of those aspects that the participant improved during the training were: communication, effective cooperation, understanding different norms and behaviors. During the 7 days of the training course, participants were involved in exercises, group work, creative workshops, role-play, simulations and other non-formal activities. These activities provided examples on how the non-formal method can be approached by using the principles of learning by experience and created a learning space for participants to better understand the interculturalism in the youth sector. Furthermore, in order to ensure sustainability, this TC wants to provide the participants with a coached and structured opportunity to elaborate a professional and personal development plan based on competencies and values.
