International project “OUT-DOOR INTERCULTURAL GAMES“ was a youth exchange with five partner organizations : Verein Generationen und Gesellschaft from Austria, NGOs Stelpite from Latvia, the Public Institution " Sveikatingumo Idėjos " from Lithuania , E - Genclik Association from Turkey and the Foundation "Rodowo" from Poland. The project lasted six months and finished on 14 November 2015 .
The main project activity was an international youth exchange, which took place from 12.07 . to 21.07.2015 in the International Youth Meeting Center in the village Rodowo in Poland. The exchange attended 39 people, including 34 teens in the age of 15-18, and 5 leaders from various national groups . The meeting was attended by young people with fewer opportunities due to obstacles, economic, social , geographical and cultural backgrounds, who constituted more than half of the total number of participants.
The main objectives of the project was to support the social activity of youth and its commitment to local communities , and the development of interpersonal skills of the participants , encourage creativity. Other objectives of the project were: to develop educational out-door games, preparation and conduct of the final event for the local community, promotion of the out-door activities as a way to actively spend leisure time of youth, integration of young people and promotion of intercultural dialogue.
Under the program were completed game familiarization and integration exercises in trust and team building, cooperative tasks, animations, language animations, brainstorming in international working groups, discussions, workshops, various sport games and evaluation activities . Each group prepared and conducted national team games, out-door workshops and sports activities known in their countries, so that young people had the opportunity to learn different aspects of outdoor activities , learn from each other and develop their leadership skills. There was also a sightseeing tour - an international group visited the capitals of the region - Olsztyn, met sights of the old town and participated in the Festival of Colors on the community beach on Ukiel Lake.
Meeting of young people from different countries was also an opportunity to get to know other young peoples and cultures. An important role played by national evenings which made it possible to learn about the cultures, traditions and culinary arts of our partner groups, thus significantly increased the knowledge of young people associated with these countries.
The main results of the project was created by the participants of intercultural education out-door game and the final event in Rodowo for children and youth from the local Sorkwity community. In addition to the games participants prepared there artistic program, workshops of folk dances, campfire and other activities to promote program Erasmus +. The event that was completely prepared and conducted by the project participants and leaders, during which they prove not only their artistic talents, but also organizational skills. The event was received with great enthusiasm and we hope will be long remembered by all who were present.
There are as well other results of our project - participants have acquired or developed their interpersonal skills, such as the belief in their self and their abilities, commitment and desire to do to achieve that objective, creative approach make a problem and the population such as effective cooperation and communication in an international group, empathy, openness to otherness, tolerance.
The project had a very positive impact on its direct participants who developed a range of skills and interpersonal and social competences , the organization partnerships that have strengthened their potential in the sphere of international co-operation and on the local communities in which participants rotate exchange. Improving the key competence will cause further long term to increase their educational mobility and their educational opportunities on the labor market.
