Our humble 'Four quartets'.
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our School wants to get involved in a new challenge carrying out a project that favours the education for an active European citizenship addressed to the whole school staff with a a shared view to internationalization. To observe various European school systems looking for new good innovative, educational and organizational teaching and managerial practices, gives the opportunity to the manager and school personnel to implement effective strategies and teaching techniques functional for the school renewal. Nearly 20% of the staff has expressed the intention to get a European dimension of work while improving their language skills. The selected staff participants operate in different areas of the school : headmaster, headmaster assistants, teachers of different subjects, administration staff and caretakers. The Four Quartets project proposes the mobility of four-people teams (COOPERATION in RESEARCH) who go to training centres in different European countries to attend courses on topics defined according to the needs previously listed (INNOVATION in EUCATION). When coming back the participants to similar topic courses will meet with colleagues who have attended other courses in different locations to share experiences and acquired competences (INTERACTION of COMPETENCES). The work will then have a positive outcome in the building-up of a new curriculum and of a new more international and active image, both of the school and its background , territory and partners ( INTEGRATION of PARTNERS).The project will be integrated by job shadowing activities of couples of participants at partner schools in Finland, Croatia, Spain and Greece. On their coming back they will treport on their experiences and what they observed in the host schools. All the components of the project : school, students, families, local municipalities and associations will be informed of such actions through the most commonl and used channels such as the school website, eTwinning platform, blogs, social networks , newspapers’ articles and public lectures. The project will result in innovative teaching approaches, in further students and staff mobility to European countries and in a better cooperation with local institutional bodies in order to have a wider and more effective international projection of the school . The Four Quartets project will also be tested in two different ways and times, in the short and in the long term .In the first case, on the coming back of the staff form each experience there will be an immediate check through analisys of grids, questionnaires, reports, and authentic material collected that will be shared not only with those who have taken part to the other actions of the project but with all the components of the school. Afterwards there will be the setting up of teaching projects based on the innovative techniques acquired in the European institutions and schools where they have trained . In the second case, the evaluation will undergo a more complex and integrating process and will affect all the curricula and the organisational system of the school through the testing of the achievement of the predefined objectives. When the objectives are achieved the we will be able to :-Plan in an innovative and efficient way inside the school and in synergy with the external institutions;-Reduce the early school leaving thanks to effective teaching strategies that put the students at the centre of the learning/teaching process (flipped classroom, cooperative learning, problem solving ,e-learnig, TIC);- Use more specialized teaching methods to integrate and help students with specific learning difficulties (BES,DSA);-Include regular opportunities of language and working stages to different European countries in the offered school training;-Graduate students who will be more conscious of their belonging to the European community and able to work in international working contexts.
