IES María de Zayas y Sotomayor, presents for the 2016/17 academic-year, a KA102 project called "Other countries, Other experiences II". The aim is to continue and strengthen its internationalization path, initiated years ago and updated with the participation in different projects of European mobility programmes.Currently, we are implementing the project "Other countries, Other experiences" including 4 workplacement mobilities for students in Germany and 4 training mobilities for teachers, two of them to Germany and the other two to Finland. In addition, we participate in a consortium organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce which has approved a two-year project that is currently running and offering 5 internship mobilities for VET students of hospitality and tourism."Other countries, other experiences II" project includes the following mobilities:-four mobilities for students of "Bakery, pastry and confectionery". They will undertake a vocational training workplacement in german companies for 70 days. Our host partner in these mobilities is the Chamber of Arts and Crafts in Lübeck (Germany).-Two mobilities for students of "Administrative management". They will be working in the school Wijkmanska Gymnasiet in Västerås (Sweden) for 70 days. Wijkmanska Gymnasiet is a member of Västerås stads Gymnasie- och vuxenutbildning, our new partner.-Four staff training mobilities for VET teachers and Management Team of our school. They consist of a period of 5 days of job shadowing. Two of our teachers will stay in Wijkmanska Gymnasiet and the others in the school Ekami in Kotka (Finland). With this project, our school is trying to get the next objectives:- Promote the employability of our students, completing the vocational studies taken in our school with a workplacement experience in foreign companies .- Improve their language skills, very appreciated in the labour market. - Assist in the training of our students, offering them the opportunity that will help them improve their self-esteem and autonomy and contribute to make them more tolerant and more active in today's society.- Provide teachers the oportunity of getting to know strategies and educational methods used by our colleagues in other countries. This experience will be an added motivation and will allow them to renew their teaching practice.-Strengthen the collaboration with our partners. Previous mobility projects we have done before with the Lübeck Chamber of Crafts or Trade and Ekami always have had very positive results. We don't want to lose the posibility to collaborate with them again.School Wijkmanska Gymnasiet in Sweden, is a new partner, in our previous contacts we´ve got a great impression, and they are looking forward to collaborating with us. They have also given us the posibility of work placement for two students of "Administrative management".We are convinced that this project will allow us to achieve all these objectives and we want that beneficial outcomes provided by this experience to participants, can multiply and spread to the rest of the educational community. To get this, we have to carry out several activities as: presentations of the experience from participating students, explanations of the information from the participating teachers, publication of the project results on the website , elaboration of information leaflets, use of the VALOR application...If this project is approved we will be able to offer mobilities for all our VET students: 4 mobilities for 'Bakery, pastry and confectionery'; 5 mobility (managed by the consortium of the Italian Chamber of Commerce) to be distributed among "Cuisine and gastronomy" and "Restoration services" and 2 mobilities for students of "Administrative management".Our long-term aim is to give continuity to this offer of mobilities.
