İbni Sina Special Training Centre located in Yalova city is an institution with16 staff and 48 students. In our institution where the autistic children are trained, it is one of our main goals that we help our students’ personal capacities to do with their development reach the very best level, make them easy-going with themselves as well as with the community so as to enable them and their families to be happy. We are very aware that knowledge and experience are quite important in order to understand what autism is, manage the behaviour, help basic skills gained, help develop communicative abilities as well as self-care and help autistic children keep up with social life. Therefore, we have planned that all our staff employed in the institution should be trained through courses organised abroad in order to make progress about knowledge and experience, be informed of all the innovative approaches, better their language skills and share all this experience with their students, colleagues and the families of the autistic students.
In this project we are about to conduct, the students who are socialized and keep social and artistic activities will help society notice what autism is.
Through this project, special training teachers that are to be informed in many ways are to increase experience by developing their vocational skills as well as being informed of different alternative training methods. Especially, when the courses are completed, they are to be ready to support their students’ communucative affairs with the society through activities and techniques they have gained in the connection of helping autistic children be linked to society and so they are likely to be a solution for helping their students keep training non-stop to a great extent. They are also to set a training model at the standarts of European union by means of experience and knowledge they have gained.
Furthermore, they are to help the project be widespread by sharing daily lesson plans based on project work they have designed with their other collegues.
