The city of Oriszentpéter as the location of future investments, but also its surroundings, has large quantities of natural resources that may become raw materials for the production of energy from environmental, renewable sources. The location is in an area under the jurisdiction of a national park, and there is even stronger need for effective usage of renewable energy sources. The project goal is to prepare a project documentation for issuing a construction permit and a feasibility study for the biomass power plant construction. The investment target groups are the local population, entrepreneurs in the region and foreign partners whose professional experience will provide support to the project. Achievements: The project resulted in an estimation of the biomass power plant´s environmental impact, a feasibility study and project documentation for issuing all permits. The project largely contributes to the sustainable development of the cross-border region. As part of the project, a conference for suppliers was organized and a brochure aimed at the local population and entrepreneurs was published.
