For environmental and public health reasons, the muskrat has become public enemy number one. This animal destroys banks that protect against floods, and transmits diseases to humans. To prevent its spread,Belgian and French experts study its movements to map the infested areas in the cross-border region. To make the trapping of muskrats more efficient on both sides of the border, common tools have been developed, while respecting the Community rules in both regions.
