PROJECT

The project addresses the key innovations highlighted in the Communication adapted by the European Commission in September, 2013, which are also inevitable conditions for modernization of higher education: open educational resources (OER), technology enhanced learning (TEL) curriculum designing, and virtual and blended mobility forms.
The aim of this project is to open university studies for virtual mobility by training teachers and academic staff on how to design master study program curriculum using OER and applying correct licensing, how to establish collaborative trusted relationships in curriculum designing for multicultural exchange and how to integrate these opening education innovation s in every day practices.
In order to reach this aim, the following objectives had been set up for the project:
1. To develop training material for teachers and university staff on VM curriculum designing using, OER and Creative Commons (CC) licenses.
2. To train staff from consortium universities during joint staff training events on virtual mobility curriculum designing, on creation and adaptation of OER and CC licenses.
3. To develop virtual mobility curriculum (modules) for a Master degree program (field - Education sciences) in a collaborative way by teachers from consortium universities. Each partner lead the development of at least 2 modules. In total, the master level study program in Education science is composed of 10 modules. The modules have been developed using the best experience from the partners’ universities in the field of education, ICT, management and etc. which means that the program is interdisciplinary, cove ring modules from the field of education, IT, management, etc. It can be used as a unique on-line program or splitted and used by modules. It can be implemented later each partner individually or in cooperation with one or two partners.
4. To implement curriculum developed for master program in virtual mobility mode with Master students from consortium institutions.
The most important result of the project is the development of a strategic partnership of universities working in virtual mobility mode in Master program settings.
The Master program curriculum with virtual mobility option (using OER and CC licenses) developed for university studies and the staff trained during the project, as well as training material developed for further training, have most influential impact upon successful application and mainstreaming of virtual mobility, OER and TEL – as key innovations in higher education. Collaboration on the program development and recognition established the critical and necessary conditions for university collaboration in inter-disciplinary and dual degree programs for the future.
