Open Up
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Nov 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project “Open Up” identifies a link between self-awareness and youth unemployment, in a way that if the youngsters are aware of their individual potential they will be more open and confidant to create projects that will increase that potential, and consequently creating possible employment opportunities. “Open Up” was a set of two projects, a Study Visit (SV) and a Training Course (TC) that supported youth workers in helping youth to overcome youth unemployment and the consequences of that, through developing youths’ competences and knowledge in the areas of self-awareness, entrepreneurship, healthy behaviors, communication, etc. All of these in our experience contribute to the creation of employment opportunities. “Open Up to See” was a study visit that took place in Setúbal, Portugal, from 29th June to 5th July 2015 and gathered 24 participants from Portugal, Albania, Armenia, Denmark, Egypt, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, UK and Norway. The aim of the project was to explore and understand the role of youth work towards addressing consequences of youth unemployment and helping young people deal with thee. Through non-formal education methodologies, the mobility gave youth workers the opportunity to visit innovative projects in Setúbal and Lisbon related to youth work, in the areas of entrepreneurship and healthy behavior. It also provided space for sharing good practices and resources. Here, partners shared some ideas for future cooperation with the aim of working upon and dealing with the consequences of youth unemployment. “Open Up to Learn” was a training course that took place in Setúbal, Portugal, from 6th to 13th September 2015 and gathered 24 youth workers, youth leaders and people that works with youth from Portugal, Albania, Armenia, Denmark, Egypt, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, UK and Norway.
