When we get to know and examine our students, we, as teachers, see that some of our students have some risks and some of them are disadvantageous. The most important problems we see at our schools are special needs students and early school leaving. Although we have tried to find effective solutions for our problems, some of them have stayed unanswered. In order to help our students and keep the effects of solutions long-lasting, we decided to apply to this project. One of the main objectives of this project is to create more appropriate educational opportunities for these students. Another objective of this project is to inform our teachers, parents and students about the risks such as crime and use of drugs. Both special needs students and students with a risk of early school living are included in disadvategous group. In order to make our students live a different life, we need information and experience about these students. We believe courses we will attend will be very helpful in this term. We are working with eight teachers in this project, with different domains and enough proficiency in English to handle the courses. To disseminate the effects of the project to more people and the school in general, we included our headmaster, one head teacher, one counsellor in the project. All of our teachers have bachelor degrees and four of our teachers continue their master studies. Our teachers are successful in their domains and good at communication skills. As all of them symbolize a domain at our school, they are able to disseminate the outputs of the project. Also, the teachers are eager to learn new things, innovative, open-minded and they all have enough knowledge about the use of technology. So, they will be able to share their knowledge and experiences gained through the courses with their collegues, parents and the students. Finally, they will be able to realize the objectives of this project. While preparing for the project, we firstly made needs analysis. After that, we searched for the courses suitable for our needs and we communicated with the contact people in order to have idea about the content, dates, fees, places, accomodation of the courses. During that period, we shared the responsibilities and the work and also we cooperated. Activities for the projects differ according to the topic of the courses. The course about the speacial needs students will start with the theoretical background. Also, a definition for these students will be made for teachers to identify and realize these type of students. Also, the types of activities and applications appropriate for these students will be handled in the course. We will see presentations about drama and teaching techniques for these students, projects and group works and evaluation techniques . So, we will have a chance to construct student-centred system at our school. Also, some activities will be included in the course about the parents and the ways to include them in the learning process of the students. About the students with a risk of early school living, the course will again start with the theoretical background. We will learn the ways of identifying these students. The presentations about the new approaches to these students and their problems will inform the teachers and decrease the risk of early school living in longer terms. The teachers will have great experience about special teaching techniques, including these students in their own learning process, and evaluation techniques for these students. The applications in Europe will be discussed in the course and the teachers will have a chance to compare and have an idea about effective ways of teaching. Also, communication with parents will be main topics of these discussions. Thanks to education and the courses we will attend, we will have more information about special needs students and students with a risk of early school living. Called diasadvantageous students, these students will have more chance in their lives and we, as teachers, will guide these students in a positive way. With the help of informing our teachers, we will present and disseminate the positive effects of the project. We will increase the quality of education at our school, decrease the problems of our students and their parents, we will create more long-lasting effects with the help of this project.
