Odusseia Musica
Start date: Jun 17, 2014, End date: Oct 16, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Music practices for young people, instrumental as well as vocal facilitate self-expression, participation and empowerment, self-awerness, historical knowledge, socialization skills development, employability, respect of the diversity. Much more than leisure and recreation activity, they can be a vector of individual and collective emancipation. They require a practical learning process, a transmission process, some diverse spaces, some mediators with a huge diversity: formal, non-formal, both digital and physical. This transmission, and the role of specialized youth workers for this activity is questioned by each participant to the project, in each partner country for different reasons. More widely, the complexity of the issues and problems observed in our societies require creative solution and various skills at short-term and long-term. We think that cooperation processes will contribute to cross our visions and contributions in order to act effectively and directly towards the professional workers, already engaged in fields works for the development and the reform of this sector. Educative activities for young people have to be design with a societal vision as well as with specialized skills, analysis and reflection requiring a deep questioning on our habits and environment. The purpose of this training program is a double one : - to promote questioning and debate in order to allow participant to built their own vision of their responsibility in the field of youth music activities conducting. - To reinforce their theoretical and practical skills for a better practice of their job, with concrete tools and contribution (young’s people development, conducting activities;..) The activities, organised on a duration of 2 weeks, aim to reach this double goal, alternating reflection periods contributing in ideas self-expression, with concrete and practical experiences periods including different types of transmission processes. The collective process will be always preferred in transmission activities, more than individual process in order to face the societal challenge for young people. (exclusion, disparities, unemployment) The 2 weeks programme will end by a music show collectively designed including the participants and some groups of young people living around the music school which welcome the training program. This artistic original creation will include diverse music styles, in the writing of 4 songs in the 4 different languages of the participant (greek, Arabic, Turkish, French) in order to illustrate the process explored during the journey : diversity, large access, collective designing, self-expression of young people. It will be a great opportunity to share the experience with the population of Garges, but also the professional workers, and the local authorities, also engaged in this kind of reflection. After the project, some “pilot projects” will be conducted by some of the participant in their own country. The connection between all these project will be pursued by Terra Musica in order to deepen the sharing of experience, accompany and value the projects. Those project leaders will establish a professional network for innovative collective process of music transmission and practices.
