Start date: Oct 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

"From a language school to a modern training institution catering for specific needs of adult learners". The project has been based on the current needs of the organisation at the time of its development and diversification as well as implementation of e-tools into teaching. The main focus is to develop a programme for business skills trainings organised in different locations outside the institution. Business skills practice will be provided in cultural context and the offer is aimed mainly at corporate clients. Therefore, it is vital to promote the European image of the institution in the media. Another major goal is to improve the quality of courses and trainings offered by the organisation aimed also at new target groups. It will be crucial to develop modern methods, such as "blended learning" and increase the use of multimedia in the classroom. Those activities will influence opportunities and attractiveness of the organisation and help to develop it in accordance with European standards. The person responsible for the implementation of the project is Katarzyna Janda, the director of studies, in charge of the school. She will take part in the chosen mobility activities in order to implement the gained knowledge in practice at the consecutive stages of the project. Development of communication skills will help to better manage the dynamically changing team of teachers. It will also affect the ability to monitor their work in relation to changes aimed at improving the quality of courses offered by the school. The person in charge of the school has a diploma in the English philology from M.Curie-Sklodowska University, Lublin. She also holds Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English from LCCI, thus specialising at ESP.She has been a teacher at tertiary education since 1998 and in 2007 opened her private language school. At the moment she is developing co-operation with Pearson as a freelance speaker. She constantly works on improving the quality of courses run by the school as well as on her own development as a trainer and the head of a language school. The chosen mobilities suit the current needs of the organisation and allow for the exchange of good practices. The first chosen training:"Communication Strategies and Social Marketing for Adult Organisations Education" emphasises the role of a good communication strategy in direct relation with the sustainability plan of the organisation. The highly practical training focuses on developing a strategic communication directed at specific target groups, planning activities in order to recruit participants, developing good communication through media and increasing the visibility of the organisation. Another training is focused on e-learning implementation and development as well as use of various multimedia tools and preparation of didactic materials. The approach adopted in the training is based on social-constructivism theory and provides lots of hands-on experience in using "blended learning" method. The knowledge derived from both trainings will help to achieve the above goals set by the organisation. The institution will benefit from the experience of two different cultures, which will influence its European character. The described activities will contribute to promoting multilingualism and intercultural awareness, at the same time having a positive impact on the motivation of adult learners, also those with specific educational needs.
