PROJECT
FINISHED
The Project "From Montessori to independence II" is a continuation of the Erasmus + Project "From Montessori to independence" financed by EU.
The fundamental objective of the project is to raise the quality of work of the School for children with disabilities named by Maria Grzegorzewska in Zduńska Wola through the development of knowledge, competences and professional skills of teachers. Using the approach of Maria Montessori will directly contribute to the development of independence of disabled children.
Improving the professional qualifications of teachers involved in the project will also contribute indirectly to the development of schools and educational institutions in the local community and across the country.
Participants of the project will be the group of six teachers employed in the School for children with disabilities named by Maria Grzegorzewska in Zduńska Wola.
Participation in the project will be based on the implementation of 7 mobilities - 6 trainings in Duhovka Institute in Prague and 1 partnership visit in the Bambini Montessoribarnehage in Norway.
Each mobility training will include practices that will be carried out in the preschool and the school in Duhovka Institute. In addition, the practice will also be held in school in Zduńska Wola. Verification of competences acquired during the course will take place during practice at the Duhovka Institute and during supervision of the Director of the Duhovka Institute - Dorothy Paul in the School for children with disabilities named by Maria Grzegorzewska in Zduńska Wola.
In view of the fact that the EU has given us the opportunity to develop our competences in the field of Montessori pedagogy in Duhovka Institute in Prague, the possibility to obtain the American Montessori Society Certificate (AMS) has occurred. This certificate confirms the highest quality of education in the field of Montessori pedagogy. Duhovka Institute, responding to our needs and with the consultation with AMS, has adapted the schedule of trainings in the current project named “From Montessori to independence” so that we are able to apply for the EU grant for the development in Erasmus + Project. The changes made in the schedule of international training will allow for a significant reduction of costs of realization of all the mobilities associated with obtaining the AMS certificate. It should be emphasized that teachers who take part in the project perhaps will never have the chance to gain these international qualifications without the support of EU funds for purely economic reasons.
Partnership visit in Montessori school in Norway will allow us to observe classes, to observe students and teachers, to notice how the environment of the classroom is prepared, to get to know how to use Montessori materials and how to resolve the educational troubles in a different cultural reality. It will also help us to establish international contacts, which will contribute to the exchange of experiences, learning about a different culture and improving language skills.
Participation in the project will also contribute to improving the quality of work of our school, thus enabling teachers to raise professional qualifications.
Implementation in the international project will give the chance to transfer acquired knowledge and skills to our school. Moreover, we will be able to use these ideas of the highest European standards and implement them to our school.
