This project proposal, entitled ‘BIO-AGROTOURISM as an integrated method of promoting organic agricultural products and agrotourism services’ involves the training of students attending the Sector of Agriculture, Food Technology and Nutrition, of the 1rst Vocational High School of Veria (1st EPAL Verias). In the extremely difficult economic and social situation which affects Greece during which many sectors of the economy are experiencing a significant downturn, ‘bio–agrotourism’ could be a key sector of the economy involving the promotion of organic agricultural products and agrotouristic services. In these areas, the students will be trained in order to develop their skills, upgrade their professional profile and be included to the future successful entrepreneurs.In particular, through theoretical and practical courses, workshops and study visits, the training needs of participants covered by the specific project which are directly related to labor market needs, are focused on the following:- Management and organization methods of bio-agrotouristic units- Organic farming and production of quality products- Processing - standardization - marketing of organic products- Sustainable management of agribusinesses- Combining touristic and agricultural object, which aims to multiple economic and social benefits- Implementation of an upgrade planThe beneficiaries of the Mobility Plan will be 20 students and 2 coordinators - professors of 1st EPAL Verias, which for a period of 14 days, will be going to Barcelona Spain, upon request of the sending institution (1rst Ergastiriako Kentro Verias) and the host institution (Agricultural Research Institute and Technology, IRTA). The planned duration of staying abroad is considered to be satisfactory in order to meet the educational needs of the participants, so that they acquire specialized knowledge on the topics of agrotourism, organic farming and promotion of agricultural products, as well as how these european standards will be harmonized with the current developments in the agricultural sector of the Regional Unity of Emathia and the rest of Greece.After the end of the main mobility implementation activities, the expected impact for the participants will be the knowledge and skills acquisition on the specific training object, the strengthening of formal (Europass certificates) and actual qualifications (empirical and experiential training), the strengthening of their self-esteem, their active participation in the society, the development of critical thought, their personal development, the strengthening of European citizenship and the development of their language and ICT skills.The proposed Mobility Action is considered to bring considerable profits not only to the participants but also to other target groups, which through its diffusion will be informed about the specific Mobility Plan. By doing this, full use of the learning outcomes of the Plan will take place, contributing both to local and district development. To sum up, the specific Mobility Action will be an excellent guide of good practice, pushing more bodies and organizations to participate in European Actions.
