PROJECT
FINISHED
O' Captain My Captain training course project hosted 24 young people from 11 countries in Eskisehir, The project's aim was to develop the skills such as; cultural ethical values, democratization, visional perspectives, innovation in young people whom we believe are carrying a potential within themselves to unite different cultures at several different grounds.
The realized objectives of our project:
Cultural & ethical values were created by questioning the terms on workshops run with different tools & methodologies. Awareness was raised on democratization trough debates & case studies. Consciousness on the cultural diversities & sensitivities of different societies were developed by the sharing of real-life experiences in 11 different cultures & local environments. The role of civil society organizations in order to support young people were discussed for certain locations/cultures/environments beside the common ground rules. The awareness on youth-work was also raised since the sessions were all related with the Youth-NGO structures. Four more members have joined our organization and started working actively who were involved in different parts of our project. By using methodologies that involved open-communication & collaboration and involving participants from different cultural & social backgrounds, we've achieved a great level of solidarity & inclusion among our participants. Leadership subject was one of the core elements of our project so we've blended it in, in every activity we have run during our project.
The project results were multiplied trough the usage and distribution of online project & leadership related information. https://ocmc.eskisehirgelisim.org website and connected social media tools were created and sent to partner organizations & other youth ngo contacts. A strong base for future project plans & new training models have been created according to the work & feedback of our projects participants.
Our participants during our 7-day activity mainly carried out & got involved in case studies. They have experienced interaction-learning-group work-discussions-workshops-evaluations trough different methodologies of nonformal education. Besides these, they had the opportunity to get to know each other better by sharing their experiences and socially interacting with cultural activities.
We believe that the development of leadership skills in our participants as future youth leaders were essential for their sending organizations and supported the development of necessary skills for them to be more active in decision making bodies of their societies today and in the future.
