The project "New skills for success" is orientated to support 17 /seventeen/ young people aged from 16 to 19 years from vulnerable groups (minorities, orphans, raised by a single parent or a guardian, families of divorced parents and / or unemployed parents, one or both parents abroad, children drop out from school, grown in nursing home) - trainees in the field of tourist services at the Centre for Vocational Training of "Brain Group" Association. The project has been prepared in accordance with the priorities of the National Youth Strategy (2010-2020), which also provides individual support measures for young people at risk in their professional development, validation of results through ECVET, tools for self-assessment of knowledge and skills - Europass, European concept of lifelong learning and the EU strategy for growth "Europe 2020".
The project aims to provide opportunities to the disadvantaged youths to acquire vocational qualification, to upgrade their knowledge, professional language skills and key competencies. Vocational training in the form of apprenticeship in a real working environment under the tutelage of mentors to enable them to gain work experience and skills: for learning, for independence of thought and action, problem solving, responsibility, teamwork and communication skills in a foreign language. The participation in the project will give them a chance to acquire the skills necessary for their successful realization on the labor market under the competitive economy conditions. The development of efficient and flexible systems for training and cooperation among the partner organizations to enhance professional capacity, strengthen the European dimensions in the work with youths in risk, guarantee the effect of the results based on the European added value of "Erasmus +” Programme
Activities` description:
1. Signing a contract with HRDC
2. Information campaign of the project
3. Signing the contract, MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING and QUALITY COMMITMENT TRAINING PLACEMENTS with the host organization
4. Selection of beneficiaries
5. Training for acquiring skills for employment and entrepreneurial skills
6. Preliminary language, vocational and cultural preparation in Bulgaria
7. Preliminary visit to Spain, meeting with employers and mentors for negotiating the work places
8. Selection of beneficiaries and signing the individual training agreements between the beneficiaries, the sending and the host organizations
9. Technical travel arrangements for the mobility
10. Practice implementation and cultural training in Spain
11. Certification of the beneficiaries from the host organization
12. Validation of the mobility results
13. State examinations for obtaining II degree qualification certificate in professions: Cook and Waiter-bartender according to the VETA
14. Analysis and evaluation of the results’ quality
15. Valorization conference and dissemination of the project results
16. Preparation and submission of final report to HRDC
The methodology which will be use in the process of implementing the project is a combination of approaches and tools used in already successfully implemented by the organization projects, consistent with the target group: training for acquisition of key competences; language training; modular training in syllabus E for acquisition of vocational training and apprenticeship (learning by doing) on a work place under the tutelage of mentors. In the course of implementing the project will be used the following methods: survey, documenting the evidence of the progress of the beneficiaries’, validation, analysis and presentation of project results, development and dissemination of information materials
Expected results:
• Acquisition of knowledge, practical skills and vocational qualification in the professions cook and waiter-bartender
• Validation of the acquired skills and qualifications of the beneficiaries, increasing their European dimension through certification: Europass Mobility, Certificate of Vocational Qualification and Europass Certificate Supplement
• Improving the foreign language competences of the participants
• Increased understanding and awareness of the participants about other cultures and countries
• Motivating young people to participate actively in the society and developing a sense of European citizenship and identity
• Increasing the capacity and the international dimension of the project partners in VET, learning new teaching methods, development and coordination of various forms of recognition and accumulation of knowledge and skills, acquired during the mobility abroad, introduction of flexible learning models corresponding to the needs and objectives of the students
The long-term benefits are creation of good practices for working with disadvantaged young people and development of quality lifelong learning, improving the cooperation between the partners in the project and validation of qualifications through applying of ECVET
