Nous sommes tous des navigantes
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Dec 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Nous sommes tous des navigantes" aims to promote a direct contact, through participation on a youth exchange, of young people living in the opposite bank of the Mediterranean, youngsters who share a part of their ethnic and cultural background, and/or religious beliefs in order to deconstruct stereotypes and prejudices young people living in Europe have about their peers who live in their origin countries and vice versa, to show the real situation of young people with migrant background who live in Europe. This project proposal is based on the belief that today, as never before, only through intercultural and interreligious dialogue and the promotion of social inclusion we can find new balances that are able to strength social cohesion, support cooperation and active citizenship in the Mediterranean region thus facilitating self- identity determination and the peaceful development of plural and inclusive Europe, that looks to the Mediterranean as the cradle of its past and beating heart of her future. The main objectives are:- to reflect on causes and effects of migration in this historical period, recognizing national models of integration; - to reflect on the mechanisms of national, international and/or global identity determination; - to recognize stereotypes, prejudices and discrimination based on ethnicity, national and / or religious; - to reflect on situations and contexts that determine social exclusion; - to improve active participation in order to promote social inclusion of young people with migrant background; - to promote Non-formal methodology and intercultural learning; - to encourage active citizenship of young people and the international mobility promoted by the Erasmus Plus. The youth exchange involved youth association and NGOs from Italy, Belgium, Morocco and Tunisia. The activity will be implemented in Turin from November 4 to 'November 11, 2016 and provides for the participation of 8 participants in each partner country and 10 for the country promoter including youth leaders. The working methods are: non-formal education, informal and peer education, sessions are structured to ensure a balance between different techniques, providing several opportunities of direct meeting and exchanges with people involved, at different levels, with the youth exchange topics.
