The project of this proposal entitled "Health Care in Intensive Care Units" refers to the education of students in the health and care sector. Participants will be trained in the care of patients that require critical care in ICU. Intensive treatment (Intensive care medicine or critical care medicine) is a branch of medical science that deals predominantly with the treatment of patients with acute threatening diseases for life. It also includes the recovery and transport of critically ill or trauma patients, either from another part of the hospital, or from outside. The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specially equipped and staffed part of the hospital dedicated to treating patients with life threatening diseases, heavy injuries or complications. The ICU is a very demanding field, both from an employment point of view and from the aspect of education and training of its staff. The nursing staff of this unit is a key factor of its operation and also determinant of the clinical outcome of patients. The type, size and position of the ICU, is based on health policy, the structure of the hospital and the geographical data of the area. With the exception of coronary units and neonatal ICUs, the critically ill patients are admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital and treated by expert intensivists. The quantity, type and complexity of the monitoring devices is affected by the size and role of the ICU. Regarding treatment, there are machines that should be available immediately. The staffing of the ICU includes qualified medical staff that has specialized in emergency and intensive care. The nursing staff are experienced nurses with monitoring capability of vital functions of the patient, execute urgent interventions (intubation) and collecting hemodynamic parameters. The therapists, clinical pharmacists, technologists medical instruments are also integral to the proper functioning of ICU. This program is designed for Nurses - participants who want to work in intensive care units and have not received any special training. As is apparent from the above, there is a strong need for continuing nursing education and expertise in the care of critically patients in ICUs, which is more urgent than ever. More specifically:A. In nursing care of critically ill (preoperative, intraoperative patient), participating in nursing actions appropriate to their level and learning object and the specialization and experience they have,B. In helping the medical staff of ICU in the exercise of his work. Besides the basic objective which is the preparation and training of new nurses to be able to meet the demands of modern Intensive Care, the plan aims so the participants gain the necessary expertise in the following:- Be able to assess the patient's vital signs,- To provide first aid,- Perform artificial respiration- To apply cardiac massage,- To know how to deal with pain,- To manage and treat allergic shock,- Be able to make retention bleeding,- To manage the ICU patient according to his case,- Understand the rules of ethics for patients in ICU- Know the syndrome the ICU- To enrich their knowledge regarding the Child and Neonatal ICU. Implementation of the plan of 40 participants, 20 per flow accompanied by two teachers, will be held in England for fifteen (15) days. The host institution will be the London FirstAid Training. Subsequently, the implementation of the project will bring multiplier effects and benefits to sending and receiving institutions, but also to the participants, who will gain the following:- Be able to meet the requirements of the provision of hospitalization in ICU- Understand the use and function of cardiograph,- Be trained to use aspiration,- Be trained to use a defibrillator,- Use sphygmomanometer and stethoscope,- Be aware of the practical applications of laboratory fluid delivery systems and materials.
