The educational offer in IES Jose Luis Lopez Aranguren is Secundary Education and Vocational Education and Training (professional family of wood and furniture). It is located in a socioeconomically hard area of the city of Fuenlabrada, which means that many of our students come from working families with few resources and very low levels of training. This reason also prevents them from participating actively in the education of their children. This brings a high level of school leaving or makes our students to have a sense of anticipated defeat with few expectations about their future. In our school plan we have included as a crucial objective to implement the mobility capability of our students, we believe that international mobility is an essential tool for the future working life and education. In this way, we add to our training , teaching content and skill acquisition a variable to the quality of our teaching. In the last six years, we have taken part in fifth previous projects within the Lifelong Learning Programme (Leonardo da Vinci) and Erasmus + Program. In the project there four Vocational Training Centres (wood and furniture professional family), two from the Community of Madrid (our IES and IES León Felipe in Torrejon de Ardoz that presents its own project) and two centers in Denmark. Moreover, five companies from the sector are also invoved, and today we are signing another agreement with a company based in Copenhagen. For this project we have planned the following mobilities:A1: VET student traineeships in VET centers abroad, three students of 2nd year of VET cycle for eleven weeks to complete their training and to get a certificate.A1: VET student traineeship in a VET center for a recent graduate student who wants to do another traineeship in Denmark.A2: One VET student stays in a training center abroad for one month to attend lessons in a vocational training institute in Denmark.A3: Mobility of teaching staff, a Danish teacher who would come to our educational center to teach our students and our teachers one week course for comparing the wood / furniture working process made in Denmark and in Spain.A4: Two mobilities for training staff in Denmark to exchange educational methodology with the participating schools in the project and professional practices to improve the quality of our training. We have improved our methodology with the experience gained in recent years in the previous projects and we have established a kind of protocol to carry out all the procedures for a mobility project.-The first step is to get our students motivated and to encourage them to participate in the project. In the first year of VET, they are told about the project and everything related to Denmark: its way of working in relation to our training centre, the production system, the type of products, techniques and equipment, language, habits, etc. This motivates the interest of the students and it is noticed not only in the development of the project but also in their efforts to get good academic results and improve their behavior and motivation to be selected.- The second step is the selection of participants from performance, behavior and language proficiency criteria.-Once the selection is done, all practical arrangements (tickets, accommodation, insurance, signing agreements ...) are performed with the help of our partners.-During their mobility: continuous monitoring of their traineeship and stay is done.-After their mobility: we proceed to the analysis of results, impact and the dissemination of the procedures as described in this application.-The conclusions obtained after this process always result in improvement proposals for the following year. With this project we want to improve significantly the quality of education we provide, directly in students who enjoy the opportunity to do their traineeship in a company abroad, and indirectly in all other students, improving our staff training thanks to the mobility for staff. We expect not only to improve our participants´ knowledge and skills, but also to complete our students training as adults, increasing maturity, autonomy and ability to start his new life in the workplace.
