The context that determined this project is represented by the needs of the young people in small communities, to offer them learning alternatives to the formal system of education, as their needs are various and complex but the traditional system prepares them only in part for the future. The future means a job or a career and furthermore, the European and global context in which a job can be applied to.
The project comes as a follow up and a valorisation of the previous experience of the 2 organizations involved, experience that will be applied in a nonformal transnational context.
The objectives of the project are:
- to involve 20 participants from Romania and Austria for 4 months in promoting nonformal education in their communities
- to develop with 20 young people form Romania and Austria, for 5 days, a practical workshop about the nonformal education methods
- to disseminate the good practice examples.
In this project, we will involve 20 young people, 10 from Romania and 10 from Austria. Their profile is described as follows:
- young people interested by their personal development
- English speakers, at least intermediate level
- willing to learn in a nonformal context.
The activities of the project will be:
- the meeting of the project team
- the selection of participants
- the promotion
- mobility 1: the nonformal education workshop
- mobility 2: the nonformal education lab
- the dissemination of the good practice examples
- the project monitoring
- the project evaluation.
The methods we will use will be connected to the nonformal principles and will include: presentation, free discussions, facilitated discussions, brainstorming, gallery tour, citizens' coffeeshop, living library, forum theater, group games, energizers, reflection groups, etc.
The results of the project are: 2 mobilities, 20 young people will learn about the methods of nonformal education, a successfull partnership. The activities will have a multiple impact: for the participants, for the 2 organizations involved, for the local communities, both at local and national level.
The long term benefits are related to: offering learning alternatives to the young people, increasing their adaptability to the labour market, developping future partnerships between the partners, community approach, developping transnationa communication for young people.
