Participation of young people is one of the key questions that youth workers address in their work. Concepts of participation usuallyrefer to at least four dimensions: social participation, political participation, economic participation and cultural participation.Unfortunately, in today`s Europe young people do often not participate in any of these societal dimensions. Against this background, the project aims to contribute to the development of measures that foster the participation of youngpeople in political, social, cultural and economic life in their countries by an empowerment approach that provides young peoplewith the necessary competences to become an active part of the society in which they live. How?Since youth work holds a variety of instruments at hand to foster youth participation, the project aims to strengthen organisations inmaking best use of the power of the educational impact of their projects improving the quality and expertise of their youth workerin planning, implementing and evaluating educational programmes both at local level both at international through youth exchanges and international voluntary experience like EVS with addressing youth needs. The project aim to enhance capacities of organisations in the youth sector in implementing educational activities such as workshops, seminars, youth exchanges and training courses for young people on local and international levels with the aim to encourage young people to participate more actively in societal life and to stimulate young people’s spirit of initiative, creativity, entrepreneurship, and employability. While the direct impact of the educational programmes is directed on the participants` competence development as projectcoordinators and youth educators, the project also aims to create an impact beyond the participants. The expected impact on thesending organisation is to use new procedures in the design of their youth activities, apply new non-formal working methods intheir daily work, and to engage to a larger extend into international youth projects and to participate in an exchange of expertiseand experience on European level with colleagues from other countries. This project is a training course for 24 youth workers or educators working with young people coming from 8 countries which it willbe held in Italy in 20-27 June 2016.The methods that will be used in the training courses will be based on the principles of non-formal education, are highly participatory and inclusive and rely on the active participation of the participants to make the educational experiences a success.
