The main aim of this EVS project is to raise awareness towards vulnerable groups such as minorities, Roma children, children from street, social families. The volunteers from Poland and Hungary together with several local volunteers will work 12 months in Skopje, Macedonia, basically in the municipality Shuto Orizari which is the biggest Roma community in Europe and cooperate with local volunteers and more experienced international volunteers in the implementation of activities for children and youngsters with fewer opportunities (street children, children without parental care, children and youngsters from ethnic groups facing discrimination and social exclusion and youngsters from rural and border areas), plan and organize workshops that aim to develop artistic and creative skills or foreign language knowledge.
The volunteer will be hosted by the organization "Defence for Children Rights" and her activities will take place in their Day Care Center for children from street.
The volunteers' activities will be:
- Develop activities for the children by planning, preparing and implementing them, such as musical, artistic, handcraft and other workshops, outdoor activities, sport activities etc. by own choice.
- Support the children due their learning process as part of the regular activities of the center
- Organizing promotions and events about the activities in the Daycare center, Youth in Action Programme and the street magazine LICE V LICE (FACE TO FACE)
- Moral support for the children who work for the street magazine LICE V LICE
- Motivate the children to go to school and bring them to school (the School is located 3 minutes away from the Daycare center)
- Help the children to maintain their hygiene
- Support and help in the regular activities and workshops in the center: language and educational, creative, sport and recreational programme.
- Accompanying and help in organizing excursions and field trips in the city and in the country
- Support in cooperation with other organizations
- Preparing and realizing own idea for mini project at the end of the EVS project
- Organizing public event presenting the outcomes of the entire EVS project
