Noile medii dintre noi: Experiențe de Învățare Digitale
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our organisation provides secondary vocational education in the field of arts. Every year over 1000 pupils attend our classes, while our staff comprises over 150 teachers. Today’s children are considered digitally native and, given the ubiquity of digital media in their every-day lives, a crucial point in our development strategy is improving the digital competences of our teaching staff. As such, the main outcome of this project is the teachers’ improved ability to design attractive and efficient learning experiences. In order to achieve this end result, we envisage the necessity to improve the following competences:- educational use and adaptation of mobile applications;- educational use of video techniques;- integration of social media in formative scenarios;- educational use of digital storytelling instruments;- digital citizenship and cybersecurity; - design of new-media-friendly learning environments. Our target group is made up of 12 teachers. In tandem, they will attend six training courses, as follows:1. „Video production and language learning” (Berlin, Germany)2. „Midnight Sun Course”, double couse based on Game-based learning and Gamification & Social Media Master Class – Curation (Inari, Lapland, Finland)3. „New learning environments - What kind of schools we should build in a future?” (Joensuu, Finland) 4. „Creative learning and teaching using ICT and the cultural environment” (Rhodes, Greece)5. „Practical uses for mobile technology in the language classroom” (Canterbury, Great Britain)6. „ICT for Collaborative Project Based Teaching and Learning ” (Pembroke, Malta)Among the results envisaged, the ones whose impact we deem highest are the setting up of a data base comprising sequences of learning activities designed by the participants using the newly acquired methods and techniques, partially accessible on our school’s website; and the creation of a video documentary,a lso available on-line, presenting the essential aspects in each step of the project, including short sequences recorded by the participants during their experience abroad, relevant interviews, and samples of educational activities applying the new abilities and knowledge. The success of this project would translate as an important step towards a new educational philosophy insipred by humanism, positing as its main principles: availability of learning anywhere, at any time, using any device; fostering of originality and internalization of symbolic goods; critical thinking and means of online identity protection; prevalence of holistic learning experiences; freedom in choosing the suitable learning contents and self-paced progress; nurturing of mutual trust and opneness to collaboration.
