Soon after the 25th anniversary of the Berlin Wall 60 young people aged 16+ from Germany, England, Ukraine, Macedonia, Italy, Romania, Russia, Spain and Slovakia will meet in Berlin to reflect the impact of this event on the development of Europe and on its subsequent integration.
The project "No Walls!" purposes to investigate the reasons (social, political, economic, ethnic, geographical, historical, etc.) leading to the (regional) separation in different countries. The key question that must be answered: Are the preconditions for splitting up often similar? If so, what can be politically and socio-economically done to prevent splitting or avoid it. Both the example of the reunified Germany, as well as of the referendum in Scotland should teach the young people to find a real possible alternative to separation, taking into account the current political/economic situation. The young people are challenged to construct the strategies to counteract the separation tendency (at regional, national and European level) and underline Union benefits.
In thematically diverse workshops, role plays, discussions and roundtables everyone can express himself so that future Europeans would not have walls any more!
