PROJECT
FINISHED
In developing learners' competences in an international context, teachers play the key role. Teachers are models and provide advice for learners, so they contribitute significantly in their students' development of international competences.
Participants in the intended project will be 35 teachers from various Lower Saxon vocational schools. They will spend five days abroad, and through collaboration with their European partners they will gain a broader understanding of practices, policies and systems in education and training across Europe as well as a greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. The superordinate project aim is the promotion of mobility activities for learners and transnational collaboration - this will be achieved by qualifying teachers from several Lower Saxon vocational schools.
The focus of qualifying teachers is the quality assurance of future mobility projects. During their stay abroad, the participants will gain a general idea of their partners' courses on offer and the professional procedures in their partners' national training system. Training regulations and curricula will be compared, and possible internships of learners will be discussed. The participants will also visit local internship providers to observe procedures and later phrase learning outcomes which could be aquired by learners. In collaboration with their partners, the participants will also compile a Memorandum of Understanding and an assessment procedure to acknowledge learning outcomes.
Teachers who have gained personal experience abroad will be better equipped to represent and advertise the added value of mobility projects to learners and training companies. Transnational collaboration between partners will be faciliated, and mutual trust will be supported. By publishing the compiled results, i.e. ECVET elements, online on the web pages of the European network EREIVET (www.reivet.net), the regional networtk NeMo (www.netzwerk-mobi.de) and the Lower Saxon ministry of education (www.mk.niedersachsen.de), an extensive and sustainable dissemination of results will be guaranteed.
