PROJECT
FINISHED
mu-zee-um vzw wants with the project 'NEW TECHNOLOGIES and ICT in other COUNTRIES' to broaden their knowledge and expertise of new media in other museums by using the program "Learning mobilities of individuals". It is indisputable that museums and art-organisations in the Northern Countries are more developed in the field of using ICT and new media for museumvisits and art-education. To use the individual 'staff-trainings' we aim for every participant to increase the professional skills and competencies in the field of ICT in museums.
The learning partnership (Grundtvig) of mu-zee-um 'ETNA' (Exploring Technologies and New Approaches for museumvisits for (senior)adults) is coming to an end in the summer of 2014. Thanks to this project our enthusiasm increased to search and to do research to new possibilities with new media in museums. There is still a lot to explore! With the 'training/teaching asignments abroad' we see a unique possibility to enlarge our horizons in the ICT-field of museums!
Two staff members will folow the course 'time-laps" in Iceland (November 2014) to master this technique. In mu-zee-um we already did experiments with 'timt-laps' for adults... and this technique will also be used in the current SENIOR-APP. But we feel an urgent necessity to refine this technique to make sure that this use of this technique will be more accessible for adults when they visit a museum.
Six other stafmembers and permanent employees will visit colleagues for a week to participate in a job-shadowing workweek. The aim of this job-shadowing is to explore the use of ICT and new media in their museumvisits. We already know that in countries like Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Latvia and the United Kingdom the knowledge and the use of new media in museums is very high. Therefore we will choose a partner in this countries very studiously so the mobility of our employees will be succesfull! A great challenge!
The gained knowledge will be integrated in our projects. One of the big aims in mu-zee-um vzw is developing a centre of expertise about ICT in museums. From 2015 we plan new tablet-museum-visits for adults as a sequel for SENIOR-APP, the project that started up from the grundtvig-project in 2014.
