Rääma Noorte Ühing Noorus NGO was established in 1998 and since 2000 the organization coordinating activities in Nooruse Maja, Roheline 1 b Pärnu. Nooruse Maja is a Cultural Center, district center (linnaosa keskus), Folk University and also umbrella organization for NGOs who work in this house. As you will see if you decide to get to know us, we are more than just a cultural house, we are also a gateway to Europe, a people's university, a place to talk about your project, to share and meet with new people. You are welcome in our place whatever your age can be, whatever language you speak, whatever you want to learn or to teach. To make it short here you can learn, enjoy and share with different kind of people. For today, close to thousand people has gathered under the roof of Rääma Noorte Ühing Noorus, who go to different organizations, clubs, NGOs and associations to spend their free time, to educate themselves and to live a club life. In our house it is possible to learn drama, painting on china, painting on silk, painting on glass, painting, playing harmonica, making laces, patch work, sewing, line dance, line dance in wheelchair, society dance, ballroom dance, folk-dance, belly-dance, free-style dance, acting, singing, folklore. All activities are continuous and growing. Club life and communication are with great importance. All of the rooms are used by children, youth, adults and pensioners. We working 7 days per week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. From 6 p.m. we have 3-5 parallel activities in different rooms. Saturday is only day where we don`t have regular activities and this day is for concerts, dramas, parties, dance events. In summer time regular classes, courses, trainings stops. Then we organizing summer courses, projects, festivals, concerts, exhibitions and preparing the autumn season. Hosting volunteer will bring new experience and fresh atmosphere to Nooruse Maja as it already did by the past. The volunteer can help with practice foreign language, learn about different cultures, youth life, history, traditions, songs etc.Volunteer can learn Estonian language, culture, history and computer skills. He can visit concerts, exhibitions, different activities inside Nooruse Maja and outside. Also the volunteer can help us in participating in building new international and European projects.The role of EVS volunteers in Nooruse Maja can be:*preparing and organizing different cultural activities for the children and young people (art, performances, games).*share the ideas and experiences to prepare and organize some events*helping to organize the events. These event are more often happening in summer, that's why we prefer the project to begin in the middle/end of winter and to end in the end of summer or beginning of Autumn. During winter there are events at night and week-end once or twice a month. From June to August there is one event per week more or less. These events are for example midsummer night (Jaanipaev), Linedance Festival, Porcelain painting days, concerts... a mix of traditional Estonian parties and more mainstream events.*presenting his country and traditions*share the ideas to prepare summer festivals*assisting tutors in their activities as requiredThe working day will be around 6 hours starting around lunch. He will have 2 days a week off.Activities for working day:*language courses*planning events, festivals*helping to organizing / finding new European/international projects and helping to realize them*sharing he's knowledge. The volunteers can also participate in the courses that are taught in our house, language courses for example, or participate in other projects in Parnu sometimes, since we are linked to many other organizations in Parnu.
