The EVS project "New European Dialogues" involves 3 volunteers from the Netherlands and is the result of a continued partnership between Stichting UcDean (the Netherlands) and ADVIT (coordinating NGO in Moldova). For this project, three Moldovan NGO's are involved as EVS hosting organizations. The origins of this project lie in the commitment of all involved organizations to sustain a dialogue between an EU member-state and an EU neighbourhood country, in spite of the recent instability in the region. The particular aims at 1) supporting NGO's in Moldova with international perspectives and practical assistance in reaching out to vulnerable groups. 2) offering Dutch youngsters, in particular those who are not in employment or education, an invaluable opportunity to broaden their horizons, obtain relevant working experience and an immersion in another culture. This project therefore not only supports an intercultural dialogue, but also seeks to strengthens Moldovan civil society. In addition, the project pays particular attention to the development of labour market relevant competences for Dutch volunteers who have not yet completed education or are currently unemployed. In order to achieve this, volunteers will work on a personal development plan geared toward future use in education or work. The activities which are undertaken in the frame of this project support Moldovan NGO's that work with several marginalized target groups: refugees, terminally ill people and children at risk. Project activities will take place in Chisinau (Moldova) over the period of 17 months (February 2016 - June 2017). Project activities include organising workshops in the domains of sports, arts, culture and language training, provision of care and leisure activities for vulnerable groups and organizational support for NGO's. In doing so, this project offers not only immediate support to vulnerable communities in Moldova and challenged NGO's, but also offers new opportunities and perspectives to Dutch youngsters who have difficulties in education or finding work. Sending Organization Stichting UcDean supports and coordinates the learning process of all involved organisations and the participating volunteers.
