Neue Impulse für Forstwarte
Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Liechtensteiner Forstverein supports the continuous vocational training of its members, trainers and learners. In order to extend the professional skills on international level and to enhance the attraction of this profession (which is not harmless) of the forest manager, four mobility activities are planned. The aim of the Erasmus+ project is to foster the professional, mental, linguistic and social competences of the participants through an international exchange of knowledge. Simultaneously it is aimed to release new impulses in order to draw the attention of the public to the valuable and sustainable forestry work and consequently to show appreciation for the forest managers. Firstly, the objectives of the project are fulfilled by the participation of six forest managers at the International Association Logging Championships in Poland, where they have to give proof of their professional skills in various disciplines pressed for time during the competition. Secondly, the participants go for a cross-border training exchange to an international Austrian supplier for safety equipment in order to update their know-how regarding the safety requirements in the line of work. Thirdly, the professionals learn more about the latest technologies for machinery at an innovative German company specialised for equipment for the work in the forestry. Besides the compliance of safety standards, innovative solutions and machinery are necessary for economical timber harvesting. Fourthly, VET traineeships for two participants in Schweden and Norway are planned. The participants benefit from the international transfer of professional know-how and the extension of their experience in various fields and personal development. Even the vocational education undergoes a benchmark from which new knowledge will result and therefore the comprehension of the diverging vocational education in Europe will be fostered. The gained experiences will be applied in the professional education and advanced vocational training. The trainees also benefit from the direct know-how transfer with the forest managers during the preparation for the International Association Logging Championships. In addition the professionals learn more about the safety standards and latest engineering technologies which are assumed at their daily work in the forestry. Furthermore the long-term traineeships are advantageous in the Curriculum Vitae.
