Neogenesis: New Generation
Start date: May 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

NEOGENESIS- Next Generation is the second hosting project in the organisation of AGD Gustaf, following the success of the first NEOGENESIS project. We anticipate this project will aid further development of key competences in the next generation under Erasmus+ programs. Project has the following goals:1. Increasing youth participation in EVS programs within EU, focusing on cultural production and social inclusion.2. Creating space for aquisition of skills and qualifications through informal learning and execution of own projects.3. Development of volounteers, in order to enhance the quality of the EVS project.4. Building a platform of resources and a network for youth organisations, as an answer to socio-economic change.5. Inclusion of youth and volounteers in the activities that increase tolerance and solidarity. As an organisation whose primary goal is actualisation of alternative culture through music, we wish to host two volounteers who wish to increase their knowledge in the field of musical arts, in which we can provide a wealth of experience and knowledge (event organisation, lighting techniques in music and theater, event promotion, photo and video, writing reviews, ...)After the two volounteers arrive, we will hold a joint meeting in which we will discuss expectations, capabilities, wishes and ideas. EVS is responsible for their residency in the hosting country, for their welfare and for their free time outside of the hosting organisation. Members of AGD Gustaf are aware of importance of inclusion of other participants and social activities outside of hosting organisation. Therefore, we will provide full support in their inclusion in the new enviroment. Coordinator will direct their education and set tasks. That will be done through regular meetings, discussion of volounteers ambitions and of course realisation of those. The role of outside mentor is of utmost importance. Mentor serves as volounteers best friend, supporting and listening to them, and also helping them with resolution of any conflicts that may occur with the hosting organisation. Mentor also helps them set themselves up in a new enviroment, and with their wishes and wants, or any other outside activities.Learning and understanding a foreign language is key for any volounteer, so he or she can communicate outside of work enviroment. In order to feel safe, comfortable and included in new enviroment, the volounteers will start by helping with simple tasks. After the period of inclusion is complete, the work tasks and responsibilities will be upgraded.Meetings with the EVS coordinator and the EVS mentor will happen either separately or together (as needed), while mentor and coordinator will remain in constant communication with eachother. Thus all the possible problems or conflicts should be resolved by their cooperation.Expected effects and results of the project are:- strenghthening of the role of youth workers,- empowering volounteers for greater social participation (including unconventional political participation),- Increasing the renown of the EVS project amongst the young within the organisation and within the local enviroment,- establishing strong international partnerships,- upgrading existing and aquisition of new key competences in both volounteers,- increasing local sensibility for acceptance of differences.Long-term effects are:- greater professionalisation of youth work within our organisation,- establishment of quality hosting and sending enviroments for implementation of further mobility programs in partnership organisations,- prevention and overcoming of prejudice in hosting and sending enviroment,- increased youth interest for participation in mobility programs in local enviroment,- prevention of social exclusion of youth.Methodology:- weekly meetings with the EVS coordinator,- monthly meetings with EVS mentor,- weekly team meetings (collegium),- monthly volounteer reports,- periodical and final project evaluation with volounteers and organisation,- slovene language classes (2 hrs./week)- organised teamwork,- individual work,- additional lectures,- workshops.
