Bites AEC is an educational institution, providing formal and non-formal education for adults. Recently non-formal adult education has become especially popular. Learners seek to gain new skills necessary for their professional career and life. On the basis of strategic conclusions we design syllabi which would best meet students’ needs. At present very popular sphere of non-formal education is the business English language. The second sphere deals with a need of the adult education centre new image formation and seeking of the learners’ to gain economics and business knowledge. The learners of Bites AEC not only take interest in purposeful knowledge, but also wish to turn their hobby into profession. On the prevailing market conditions of the present the adult education center seeks to attract as many clients as possible and, consequently, it has become very important to have highly skilled employees in the education center business sector who would be able to professionally employ processes. Thus, with this project we seek to form a new image of the AEC, improve spheres of the English language as well as business education.
The objectives of this project are as follows: 1)to help English teachers to master new teaching methods and tools, to improve business English language teaching methodology; 2)to ensure possibilities of gaining business and economics knowledge and skills both for the educators and the learners; 3)to improve the image of the organization and to expand the supply of disciplines on the basis of European countries experience; 4)to create and develop adult education service in Bites AEC designing syllabi of business education, career planning, specialized English business language; 5)to seek to better know European culture, to promote education in multicultural environment, to provide the teachers as well as the learners with the knowledge about European education context.
On the basis of the organization strategic plan considering individual qualification needs of the project participants, there will be four teachers participants (two English teachers and two specialists coordinating activities related to career promotion, technologies, the image of AEC, and applied arts). Organization seeks to gain specific knowledge and competences in business English, career consulting, knowledge of economics for proper development and implementation of new syllabi. All the knowledge and competences are essential to implement the strategic objectives of the education center.
The progress and quality implementation of project activities are guaranteed by a purposefully composed team. The project management and quality assurance is based on accurate planning and detailed preparation for all the stages of the project. The project participants are going to be prepared while discussing their needs, organizing personal preparation activities and education, signing individual contracts where the participants commit to fulfill certain activities during all the stages, all the acting stages are foreseen. .
Foreseen results of the project: 1)better teachers’ and learners’ language, sociocultural, cross-cultural, business and personal competences; 2)initiation of new syllabi which deals with business English, career consulting, business creation; 3)refreshed image of Bites AEC and renewed syllabi according to Europe countries experience, better results of the organization in the sphere of internationality development; 4)better self-education, communication, social, creative, personal competences of the project managing staff; 5)more experience for the organization in the sphere of international project management; 6)collaboration with other adult education institutions from all over the Europe, exchange of teaching content and methods on the basis of gained international experience. To evaluate project implementation and results, formal and non-formal evaluation will take place, Europass and special instruments designed by organization itself will be used. The foreseen dissemination activities (practical seminars for specialists and learners from Lithuania, blogs, “Facebook”, posters, improving old syllabi and designing new ones) will make the project results accessible to learners, teachers, education providers from different countries.
Project effects and benefits in a long-term perspective: 1)designing new syllabi which is better corresponding to market needs; 2)the increased possibilities both for the teachers and the learners to develop key and separate subject study competences; 3)implementation of non-formally gained educational competences within and outside the organization; 4)teacher qualification employing opportunities all over Europe; 5)consistent creating and development of non-formal adult education service; 6)refreshed image of Bite AEC, lifelong learning continuation assurance and implementation of European dimension.
